Leroy Magwood

Leroy Magwood, Jr. is the Chief Technology Officer at XG Sciences. Dr. Magwood joined XG Sciences, Inc. in 2019, bringing with him more than 10 years of research experience and consulting for product development in the areas of paints and coatings, electronics, pharmaceuticals and nuclear development. Prior to XG Sciences, Dr. Magwood lead research and development activities at DSM Functional Materials, PPG and Savannah River National Laboratory. Dr. Magwood was also a key contributor to the development of formulations and technologies that were instrumental to the establishment of Surmasis Pharmaceuticals as well as a 3D Printing company in San Francisco, California. Dr. Magwood is a graduate of the University of Iowa earning his Ph.D. in Chemical and Biochemical Engineering and Benedict College receiving his B.S. in Physics.
