Kurt Peña has a diverse work experience spanning over several decades. Kurt began their career as a Nuclear Power Plant Operator in the US Navy, where they operated and maintained a main propulsion system on a nuclear-powered aircraft carrier.

Following their service in the Navy, Peña worked as a Water Treatment Plant Operator for the City of Tracy. Kurt then transitioned into the private sector, working as an Electronics Technician and Small Business Operator at Fuzzorama Laboratories.

Peña's career in engineering started at Sartorius Stedim Biotech, where they worked as a Product Engineer. Kurt later joined Bazell Technologies Corporation as a Senior Product Engineer, specializing in automation and fluid processes for liquid/solid separation applications.

Finally, they enrolled at the University of California, Davis from 2002 to 2005, graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering.
