Vijay Gullapalli

Vijay Gullapalli, Ph.D., is a seasoned expert in data science and machine learning with extensive leadership experience across various industries. Currently serving as VP of Data Science at XOi since December 2023, Vijay previously held the position of Chief Technology Officer at a stealth mode AI/ML startup, where significant contributions included the development of a product prototype and strategic planning. As VP of AI, Machine Learning & Data Science at Calyxt, Vijay developed end-to-end AI/ML capabilities to enhance synthetic biology applications. Prior roles include advisory positions with IBM and leadership in analytics at Blue Cross NC and Capital One, where Vijay oversaw major data transformation initiatives. Vijay's foundational expertise is supported by advanced degrees from prestigious institutions, including a Ph.D. in Computer Science from the University of Massachusetts Amherst and a Research Scientist degree in Cognitive Neuroscience from Princeton University.
