Tyler Reid

Co-Founder & CTO at Xona Space Systems

Tyler Reid is the co-founder and CTO of Xona Space Systems. Tyler was previously a Research Engineer - Controls & Automated Systems at Ford Motor Company from August 2017 to July 2019. Tyler was also a part of the Autonomous Vehicles research team where they focused on localization and mapping, evaluating emerging technologies, and research. Tyler led the development of industry-first AV localization requirements and developed techniques to evaluate localization technologies. Tyler also did large-scale verification / validation of GPS / GNSS performance on the road and technology scouting. Prior to that, they were a Software Engineer at Google from June 2015 to September 2015 where they worked on Street View navigation and post-processing. Tyler also evaluated GPS performance on the vehicle and worked on the post-process optimizer based on Ceres (http://ceres-solver.org/) to improve GPS usage in the final pose estimate. Tyler has also been a Lecturer at Stanford University from April 2018 to July 2019 and a Research Assistant at Stanford University from September 2010 to June 2017.

Tyler Reid has a PhD in Aeronautics and Astronautics from Stanford University. Tyler also has a Master of Science in Aeronautics and Astronautics from Stanford University. Tyler Reid has a Bachelor of Engineering in Mechanical Engineering from McGill University. Tyler is also certified from Scuba Schools International as an Open Water Diver.

Their manager is Brian Manning, Co-Founder & CEO. They are on a team with Adrien Perkins - Co-Founder & VP, Engineering, Bryan Chan - Co-Founder & Director of Business Development, and Miguel Seun - Operations Lead, Europe.
