Shankaran Sitarama

Shankaran Sitarama has extensive work experience in various leadership roles and technology positions. Shankaran is currently the Vice President of Cloud Infrastructure and Security Solutions at Xoriant, a position they have held since April 2023. Prior to this, they were the Head of Platform Engineering Services at Xoriant from December 2020 to April 2023. Before joining Xoriant, they worked as the Chief Technology Officer and Head of Products at YoGeo from May 2020 to November 2021.

From 2016 to 2020, Shankaran served as the Director of Alliances at QCT. Shankaran was the CTO and Director of Technology at Ideaon from 2013 to 2016. Shankaran also had a significant tenure at Oracle Corporation, where they held various positions including Senior Principal Consultant, Principal Member of Tech Staff - Advanced Technologies, and Senior Product Manager.

Shankaran's career began as a Graduate Student Researcher at UC Berkeley from 1998 to 2004. Shankaran then worked as a Software Engineer Intern at Sun Microsystems in 2003 and as a Software Engineering Intern at Verity in 2002. Shankaran'searly career included roles as a Design Manager at Wipro Fluid Power from 1991 to 1996 and as a Senior Engineer in Development at Kennametal India Ltd. formerly Widia (India) Ltd. from 1985 to 1989.

Shankaran Sitarama has an extensive education history. Shankaran obtained a Bachelor of Engineering (BE) degree in Mechanical Engineering from BVB College of Engineering and Technology, Hubli Karnataka in the years 1981-1985. Prior to that, they completed their Pre-University College education in Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, and Statistics at P C Jabin Science College - Hubli from 1979 to 1981. Shankaran also attended Rotary English Medium School, Hubli for their high school education from 1976 to 1979.

Shankaran later pursued a Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee from 1996 to 1998. Following this, they earned a Master of Science (MS) degree in Computer Science from the University of California, Berkeley in 2004. Currently, they are pursuing a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Mechanical Engineering at the same university, which they are expected to complete by 2023.

In addition to their formal education, Shankaran Sitarama has obtained several certifications. These include completing the "Google Cloud Platform Fundamentals: Core Infrastructure" course from Coursera in 2020 and receiving the "Mastering Digital Twins" certification from the same platform. Shankaran also became an "AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate" through Amazon Web Services (AWS) in October 2020.
