Aaron Wakefield

Aaron Wakefield is the Chief Information Officer at XSELL Technologies. Aaron has over 20 years of experience in the software industry, with a focus on software, systems, and enterprise architecture.

Aaron started their career at UnitedHealth Group, where they served as Chief Architect from March 2018 to November 2020. In this role, they were responsible for consolidating 14 medical claims processing systems into a single platform built on modern cloud native technologies. This consolidation ultimately reduced operational costs through platform simplification.

During their time at UnitedHealth Group, Aaron also improved the company's competitiveness by enabling 4 new product offerings that leveraged a mix of new technical capabilities and partnerships with external organizations like Apple, VIM, Bind, and Peloton. In addition, they increased member fitness activity through incentive programs made possible by the development of capabilities needed to process data from IOT devices like smart watches. Finally, they facilitated the United Healthcare businesses through the evaluation of acquisition targets and multiple successful integrations of acquired entities or partnerships.

Most recently, Aaron reviewed and approved the submission of a patent for the use of blockchain technology to store and retrieve medical information.

Aaron Wakefield has a B.S. in Business Computer Systems from Bradley University and certification from HarvardX - An Online Learning Initiative by Harvard University through edX in edX Honor Code Certificate for Innovating in Health Care. Aaron also has certification from ITIL in ITIL V3 Foundations.
