Alex Karol

Alex Karol is the current VP of Site Ops at XSFinancial. Prior to this, they were the Laboratory and Processing Director at Knox Medical from August 2016 to September 2018. In this role, they were responsible for designing, outfitting, and installing four cannabis processing and analytical laboratories in Florida, Texas, and Puerto Rico that operated under unique regulatory guidelines.

Alex has expertise in processes involving alcohol and supercritical CO2 extraction, High-Pressure Liquid Chromatography (HPLC), Gas Chromatography (GC), Inductively-coupled Plasma Mass Spectroscopy (ICP- MS), Triple-quadrupole Mass Spectroscopy (LCMS), rotary evaporation, wiped-film and short path distillation. Alex also developed and executed standard operating procedures on all aspects of processing including decarboxylation, extraction, winterization, analytical testing, formulation, and packaging.

Under Alex's leadership, the labs maintained the highest standardization in concentration across medicinal product forms in all competing markets. Alex also established strong relationships with members of the Department of Health and vendors on all facets of operations with distribution-level pricing on key components. In addition to their work in the lab, Alex also designed and conducted all research and development projects for cultivation and logistics.

Alex is a highly skilled leader with a proven track record in recruiting, training, and managing valuable personnel in all areas of cannabis processing. Alex is also an effective communicator and educator

Alex Karol attended Cypress Creek High School. Alex then went on to study Biomedical Engineering at Tufts University. After graduating from Tufts, they pursued a career in Neuroscience and studied Microbiology and Cell Science at the University of Florida.
