Jason King earned a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Physics from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville in 2007. Jason then pursued a Master of Science (MS) degree in Physics from the University of Tennessee Space Institute, which they completed in 2009. Following that, Jason obtained a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Physics from the University of Tennessee Space Institute in 2013. In September 2015, they also became a Certified LabVIEW Associate Developer through the National Instruments.
