Fanmei Xia

P.h.d Scholar at Yale University

Fanmei Xia is currently a Ph.D. Scholar at Yale University, focusing on migration, education, and identity formation through computational methods and modeling strategies. Previously, Fanmei served as a Senior Research Analyst at the University of Chicago while also holding roles such as Graduate Teaching Assistant and Co-President of the Harris Student Government. Significant experience includes being an Employer Partnership Specialist, Research Assistant at the Center for Spatial Data Science, and contributing to public policy podcasts. Fanmei's research work includes analyzing the educational challenges of migrant children in Beijing, and contributions to rural healthcare policies and social determinants of health. Educational qualifications include a Doctor of Philosophy in Sociology from Yale University, a Master of Public Policy from the University of Chicago, and dual Bachelor of Arts degrees in Applied Psychology & Human Development and Philosophy from Boston College.
