Xiunan Yi

Xiunan Yi's work experience includes a position as a Scientist at Yali Bio starting in 2023. Prior to that, they worked as a Graduate Research Assistant at The University of Texas at Austin from 2017 to 2023, where they focused on developing synthetic tools and platforms for metabolic engineering. They also held a role as a Graduate II-Biology Intern at the National Renewable Energy Laboratory from 2016 to 2017, where they explored fermentation conditions for various yeast strains and conducted fermentation for muconic acid production. Additionally, they worked as a Research Assistant at the University of Georgia in 2016, conducting molecular biology research on cellulolytic bacterium. They also have experience as a Student Employee at UGA Food Service in 2016 and as a Research Assistant at Shandong University in 2014.

Xiunan Yi completed a Bachelor's Degree in Microbiology, General from Shandong University from 2011 to 2015. They then pursued a Master's Degree in Biomanufacturing and Bioprocessing from the University of Georgia, which they completed from 2015 to 2016. Currently, Xiunan Yi is working towards a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Microbiology at The University of Texas at Austin, a program that is expected to be completed in 2023.
