Tim Veness

Tim Veness is an experienced mining professional with extensive expertise in mining engineering and operations management. Currently serving as Manager of Statutory Functions and Mining Engineering Manager at Yancoal Australia Ltd since September 2017, Tim has led safe and efficient dragline and drill & blast services at Mount Thorley Warkworth operations. Previously, Tim held various roles at Rio Tinto from October 2007 to August 2017, including Superintendent Operations Centre and Dragline, Drill & Blast Superintendent, where significant operational improvements and cost savings were achieved. Tim holds a Master’s degree in Business from UNSW and several diplomas in Surface Operations Management, Work Health and Safety, and Project Management.
