Dalton Colen has extensive work experience in engineering, with a focus on mechanical engineering. In 2011 and 2012, they worked as an intern at BAE Systems. From 2013 to 2014, they served as a Mechanical Engineering Co-op at Fikst, where they designed and fabricated vacuum fixtures and applied upgrades to CNC milling machines. In 2014, they worked as a Mechanical Engineering Co-op at Boston Dynamics, contributing to the design and integration of humanoid robotic systems. From 2015 to 2016, they worked as a Mechanical Engineering Co-op at Instron, where they managed custom product orders, designed automation system layouts, and retrofitted standard products. At Emulate, Inc., they initially served as an Engineering Intern in 2016, before being promoted to Engineer II from 2016 to 2018. There, they contributed to engineering projects and undertook responsibilities in design and analysis. Dalton then joined Neuralink in 2018 as a Mechanical Engineer, until their recent role as a Lead Hardware Engineer at Yard Stick PBC in 2022.

Dalton Colen completed their education at Northeastern University and Souhegan High School. From 2007 to 2011, Dalton attended Souhegan High School but did not obtain a degree or study any specific field. Then, from 2011 to 2016, Dalton pursued a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Mechanical Engineering at Northeastern University. Additionally, from 2014 to 2016, Dalton furthered their education at the same university, earning a Master of Science (M.S.) degree in Mechanical Engineering.
