Sharyn Clarkson-Kent FLPI has a diverse range of work experience. Sharyn started their career as a Personnel & Training Manager at Shire Hotels in 2010, where they managed the HR/Training function and led L&D initiatives for the group. Sharyn then moved on to B&Q in 2012 as a Core Development Specialist, where they supported 300 stores and 330,000 staff with their L&D needs. Sharyn joined Kwik-Fit (GB) Ltd in 2014 and held various roles including Commercial L&D Specialist and Recruitment and Talent Development Manager. At Kwik-Fit, they set up a central Recruitment & Talent function, looked after a team of Recruitment Consultants, and designed and delivered development interventions. Sharyn'smost recent role was at Abri Group, where they served as the Head of Learning and Development. In this role, they worked towards achieving organizational goals through sustainable learning solutions and led an LPI accredited team.
Sharyn Clarkson-Kent FLPI completed their education at Bournemouth University from 2001 to 2005, where they obtained a BA (Hons) degree in Tourism Management. Sharyn also earned a Post-grad Certificate in Personnel and Development (CIPD) from Solent University. In terms of additional certifications, they became a Certified Practitioner - Strengthscope Leader and a Certified Practitioner from Strengthscope® in 2023. Sharyn also achieved the status of Fellow of the Learning and Performance Institute in 2020 and a Fellow LPI in December 2021. Sharyn holds various other certifications, including an Insights Discovery Client Practitioner accreditation from Insights in 2014 and a Welcome Host Gold Accredited Trainer certification in customer service excellence from Tourism South East in 2011. In 2009, they obtained a Level 4 Diploma in IAG (Information, advice, and guidance) from City and Guilds QCF.
