Zaryl Tan has over 19 years of work experience in the insurance industry. In 2002, they joint-established Apexone Financial Consultancy Sdn. Bhd, representing AIA Life Insurance & AIG General Insurance, with a sales force of 60 and an annual profit of RM 2 million. In their role as Business Development Manager, they sold life and general insurance to businesses and consumers, and project managed road shows, annual corporate dinners, award presentations, team building, career opportunities programs and management trainee programs. In 2010, they were National Corporate Account Manager at Royal Selangor, where they led a team of account managers and executives with the target of attaining 15% annual growth in corporate sales to RM 20 million. In 2012, they were Country Manager at Newton Technology Corporation, where they facilitated the company’s expansion into Malaysia and brought in RM 47 million in revenue in their first year. From 2014 to 2018, they were Head of Sales & Key Account Management at Prudential Assurance Malaysia Berhad, leading a team of 48 Financial Service Managers and 15 Regional Sales Management staff. From 2020 to 2021, they were Head of Insurance, Business Development & Sales at Aspirasi, developing the strategy for Aspirasi's entrance into the insurance sector. Currently, they are Country Head at YAS MicroInsurance, managing the business expansion in Malaysia and preparing for the upcoming products launch in Q1 2022.
Zaryl Tan has a Masters in Global Marketing from the London School of Business and Finance LSBF, obtained in 2011. Zaryl also holds a Bachelor of Commerce - BCom from the University of Wollongong, obtained in 2001. In 2021, Zaryl obtained a Certified ICF Executive Coach from the Center for Executive Coaching and a Certification of Executive Coaching Online from the University of Cambridge.
