Yaskawa Motoman
Bill Edwards has extensive work experience in various roles and companies. Bill started their career in the US Navy as a Gunners Mate and served as a GMT Third Class Petty Officer, responsible for supervisory duties and maintenance of the MK. 16 Anti-Submarine Missile Launching System.
After leaving the Navy, Edwards worked as a Controls Engineer at Kohol Systems Inc. from 1990 to 1994. Bill then joined All-Phase Electric Supply Co as a Software/Motion Control High Tech Sales Rep for a year before returning to Kohol Systems Inc. as a Controls Engineer for another three years.
In 1997, Edwards transitioned to the role of Senior High Tech Sales Rep at Allen-Bradley for a few months before joining Motoman as a Senior Electrical Project Engineer, where they stayed until 2002.
From 2002 to 2006, Edwards worked at Dmax-Ltd as a Senior Electrical Manufacturing Engineer and later as a Controls Assistant Manager/New and Majors Controls, responsible for designing and approving new equipment and overseeing the controls staff.
In 2012, Edwards joined Sprimag as a Senior Controls Engineer for the entire year before moving to Yaskawa Motoman. At Yaskawa Motoman, they held various positions, starting as a Manager of Technology Advancement from 2012 to 2018. From 2018 to 2021, they were promoted to Senior Manager of Technology Advancement, and in July 2021, they transitioned to their current role as Senior Manager of Collaborative Robotics.
Throughout their career, Edwards has gained expertise in collaborative robotics, technology advancement, controls engineering, electrical manufacturing engineering, and high-tech sales.
Bill Edwards attended Sinclair Community College from 1987 to 1990, where they earned an Associate of Applied Science (AAS) degree in Electro-mechanical Engineering. Later, from 2006 to 2010, they enrolled at Franklin University, where they obtained a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Management.
