Néstor Tejero Orfila

Néstor Tejero Orfila has a strong background in software development, with experience in various roles and industries. Néstor began their career in 2009 as an IAESTE Exchange Student at the Universidad Nacional de Colombia, where they gained exposure to scientific research and game development. In 2010, Néstor worked as a UNIX System Administrator at T-Systems Iberia before transitioning to Troxo DOO as an IAESTE Exchange Student, further expanding their knowledge and skills.

Néstor then joined CustomerGauge as a Junior Software Developer in 2013, where they developed software for NPS (Net Promoter Score) and mailing systems. In 2014, they became a Mid Software Engineer at Textkernel, focusing on large-scale web mining and information extraction using technologies such as PHP, MySQL, Sphinx, and ElasticSearch.

In 2016, Néstor took on a role as a Software Developer at NIEVES Energía, where they introduced CI/CD, unittesting, and the Scrum methodology. Néstor mentored new developers and automated processes to improve efficiency and productivity. Simultaneously, they were an Associate Professor at Universitat de Barcelona, sharing their expertise and knowledge with students in the field of programming.

From 2018 to 2022, Néstor served as the CTO of Naveler, starting from MVP and successfully developing an app, reactive dashboard, and API. Néstor mentored several developers and implemented state-of-the-art solutions using Python, Django, Elastic, Redis, Celery, Docker, React Native, Vuejs, mapbox, highcharts, and bootstrap.

Currently, Néstor is a Senior Software Developer at Yescapa, where they continue to contribute their technical skills and expertise to the development of innovative software solutions.

Néstor Tejero Orfila's education history begins with their enrollment at the Universitat de Barcelona in 2002, where they pursued a 2nd Cycle degree (Llicenciatura) in Mathematics. Néstor completed this degree in 2009. Following this, from 2007 to 2011, they pursued an Engineer's degree in Computer Engineering at the same university.

After a gap of several years, Néstor returned to the Universitat de Barcelona in 2021 to undertake a Postgraduate Degree in Data Science and Machine Learning. Néstor completed this program in 2022.

In addition to their formal education, Néstor has obtained several certifications. In 2007, they obtained the Certificat de capacitació per a l'ensenyament en matemàtiques a l'educació secundària (CAP) from the Departament d'Ensenyament - Generalitat de Catalunya. In 2010, they obtained the Català C2 certification from the same institution. In 2015, Néstor obtained the Dutch B1 certification from Staatsexamen, and in 2021, they obtained the English C2 certification from the Escola Oficial d'Idiomes. Finally, in 2022, they obtained a Postgraduate Course certification in Data Science and Machine Learning from the Universitat de Barcelona.
