Chris Backert

General Manager at YesElections

Chris Backert founded YesElections, previously known as Election-America, in 2007 and has more than 15 years of experience working with elections. He has been a leading innovator in the field of election administration, introducing industry best practices as well as furthering research and development. Since joining YesElections, he has overseen the successful execution of YesElections largest election projects to date, including the first public online voting election in the United States. He is the author of “Remote Voting Technology,” which he presented at Caltech/MIT Voting Technology Project’s Voting Systems Vendor Workshop. He has participated in the development of technical standards for election technology with the federal government and has served as an adviser for the U.S. Election Assistance Commission’s Military Heroes Initiative.
