Director, Separation Sciences at YMC America

J Preston's work experience includes being the Director of Separation Sciences at YMC America's Process Technologies Group since April 2021. Prior to that, from October 2020 to April 2021, they worked as the Principle Scientist of the Phenomenex Applications Lab at Phenomenex. From 2012 to 2021, they held various roles at Phenomenex, including Senior Scientist, Group Leader, Manager/Senior Scientist of the Applications Lab and Global Product Manager, and Global Product Manager for Chiral, Prep, Bulk, and Flash products. Before joining Phenomenex, J Preston worked at Amgen from 2003 to 2011 as a Senior Scientist in Analytical Chemistry. They also worked at Pfizer - Pharmacia - Searle as a Principal Investigator from 2000 to 2003, and at Abbott Laboratories as a Scientist from 1997 to 1999.

J Preston completed a Ph.D. in Analytical Chemistry from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign between 1992 and 1997. Prior to that, they obtained an M.S. in Analytical Chemistry from Texas A&M University-Commerce from 1990 to 1991. J earned their B.S. in Chemistry from Central Michigan University during the period of 1986 to 1990.
