Claire Purnell

Claire Purnell serves as the Director of Storytelling at the YMCA of Coastal Carolina since August 2025, bringing extensive experience in marketing and communications. Prior to this role, Claire worked as a Marketing Specialist - Social Media at Conway Medical Center from November 2023 to August 2025, where responsibilities included developing social media strategies and driving engagement across multiple platforms. Previous roles include Multimedia Journalist at Nexstar Media Group, Newsroom Intern at KGNU Community Radio, and various positions in fitness instruction and social media management. Claire holds a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism from the University of Colorado Boulder and has a strong background in content creation, health and wellness promotion, and community engagement.
