Katie Platts

Katie Platts has extensive experience in service and educational roles, currently working as a Server at HyVee Market Grille since June 2017 and as a Starfish Leader at the YMCA of Greater Des Moines since June 2016, focusing on helping 1st graders improve their reading skills. Previous positions include serving as a Community Advisor at Simpson College from August 2016 to May 2017, where responsibilities involved supporting first-year students and organizing programs, and working as a Teaching Assistant at Indianola Middle School from October 2014 to December 2016, mentoring 7th grade students and assisting ESL learners. Earlier work experience includes serving as Head Cashier at Menards from July 2012 to July 2015. Katie Platts holds a degree from Simpson College, obtained between 2014 and 2018.
