Ryan McVann has a diverse work experience that spans various industries and roles. Ryan started their career as an intern at the USDA Jean Mayer Human Nutrition Research Center on Aging, where they collected and organized data for a nutritional intervention study. Following this, they worked as a Research Assistant for Active Science at Merrimack College and also served as a Career Peer Advisor at the O'Brien Center for Student Success.
In 2015, Ryan took on a role as a Sports Performance Coach at STACK Velocity Sports Performance, providing coaching to individuals of all ages and skill levels. Ryan later transitioned to becoming a Fitness Coach at Orangetheory Fitness, focusing on delivering fitness training and coaching.
Ryan's career then took a turn towards the non-profit sector, as they joined the Merrimack Valley YMCA as an Associate Executive Director. Ryan progressively took on more responsibilities, including serving as the Director of Sports and Teen, Assistant Director of Camp Otter, and Senior Director of Membership. In their most recent role, they served as the Senior Director of Youth Development & Member Services and Co-Director of YMCA Day Camp Otter, overseeing program development, implementation, and management for youth, teens, and families.
Alongside their YMCA work, Ryan also worked as an Adjunct Professor at Merrimack College, where they imparted their knowledge and expertise to students.
Soon, Ryan will begin a new chapter in their career as the Director of Branch Operations at the YMCA of Metro North.
Ryan McVann obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Kinesiology and Exercise Science from Merrimack College in 2016. Ryan later pursued a Master of Science degree in the same field of study at Merrimack College from 2016 to 2017. Ryan also holds additional certifications in Protecting Human Research Participants from the National Institutes of Health and First-Aid/CPR & AED.
