Lanaya Nelson

Lanaya Nelson has a diverse work experience. Lanaya currently works at The Linux Foundation as an Ecosystem Manager for a project focused on insurance and blockchain technology. Prior to this, they worked at BlockchainCT, where they were involved in technology and program education, awareness, and outreach. Lanaya also served as a Student Mentor at the Connecticut Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation, providing guidance to InsurTech students.

Lanaya has experience in business development at Infosys, where they worked as a Business Development Executive for global markets. Additionally, Lanaya has professional experience in the insurance industry, having worked as the Head of Communications at Motion Insurance and as the Head of Customer Engagement & Business Strategy at Ometry, a risk technology company. Lanaya also worked as a Program Director at Upward's Aged Care & Smart Building Labs.

Lanaya has experience in project management, marketing, research, content writing, and business development from their time at The Lift Factor. Lanaya has also worked as a Legal Analyst at Shepherd, Finkelman, Miller & Shah, LLP, where they were responsible for legal research, writing, and website management. Earlier in their career, Lanaya worked as a freelance writer and editor, specializing in academic medical research, technical writing, and promotional content.

Lanaya Nelson holds a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in English from Keene State College, which they completed between the years 2004 and 2008. Furthermore, they pursued a Master of Arts (MA) degree in Liberal Arts and Sciences/Liberal Studies at St. John's College. Additionally, Lanaya has acquired a Master of Education (M.Ed.) in Montessori Teacher Education from Loyola University Maryland.
