Carl Ramsden

Carl Ramsden has a diverse work experience spanning over several industries. Carl currently serves as the Managing Director at Yokogawa UK Ltd. In this role, they are responsible for creating and implementing strategic plans and driving financial and commercial performance.

Prior to their current position, Carl worked at Yokogawa as the Finance Director since 2011. Here, they supported the Managing Director in implementing strategic plans, forecasts, and business improvement initiatives. Carl also provided financial insight and decision support through timely management information.

Before joining Yokogawa, Carl worked at BASF Plc. Carl held various roles, including Financial Business Controller, Project Manager, and Subsidiary (BTC) Finance Controller. As the Subsidiary Finance Controller, they led the finance function and managed statutory accounts, tax, management information, planning, forecasting, and working capital management.

Earlier in their career, Carl served as the Divisional Controller UK & Ireland at BASF Plc. Carl was also the Service Platform Business Partner, responsible for managing service platform overheads and providing management accounting support to the Agricultural Products sales division. Carl focused on cost reduction and process efficiencies within the accounting function.

Prior to BASF, Carl worked as a Project Financial Accountant at Thames Water, where they were responsible for preparing year-end statutory accounts and managing the external audit.

At the start of their career, Carl gained valuable experience as an Audit Senior at Clough and Company (Now BHP Chartered Accountants), where they planned, supervised, and conducted audits for a range of clients.

Carl Ramsden completed their education at the University of Hull from 1994 to 1997, where they earned a 2.1 Bsc (econ) in Economics. Prior to that, they attended Morley High School from 1987 to 1994, where they obtained A levels in History, Maths, Economics, and General Studies. In 2014, they obtained a Cert IOD - Certificate in Company Direction from the Institute of Directors. Additionally, in 2001, they received an ACA certification from ICAEW.
