Saif Abid has held various roles throughout their work experience. In 2014, they worked at Dynamatik Inc. as a Web Developer, where they designed web applications using AngularJS and Golang. In 2014, they also worked at Ember Chat as a Software Engineer, taking on different roles and utilizing technologies such as AngularJS and Node.js. In 2015, they joined Wattpad, initially as an Associate Data Engineer, where they worked with Python, Go, Spark, Kafka, Hadoop, and Luigi for large-scale event processing. Saif later became a Platform Developer, involved in building a micro-service architecture using Go and implementing solutions for database migration and persisting user orders. Saif then worked as the CTO at SwiftPad from 2016 to 2017, focusing on backend services, data analytics, and infrastructure. In 2017, they joined ecobee as a Data Developer, responsible for backend development using Go and mySQL, as well as setting up GKE clusters and maintaining high unit test coverage. Saif later became a Senior Software Engineer and Technical Lead for Machine Learning, leading a team of data scientists and engineers. In 2018, Saif became the Lead Instructor for Machine Learning at BrainStation. In 2020, they co-founded Inkrement, a platform for continuous feedback integrated with Slack. Currently, Saif is a Fractional CTO for Data and Machine Learning at YSpace, York University, and the CTO at Bitstrapped.

Saif Abid holds a Bachelor of Applied Science (BASc) degree in Computer Engineering from the University of Toronto. In addition to their undergraduate education, they have obtained various certifications, including the Google Cloud Certified Professional Data Engineer and Professional Cloud Architect. Saif has also completed several specialized courses and a Machine Learning Nanodegree from institutions such as Coursera and Udacity.
