Janet Russell

Janet Russell is an accomplished professional with extensive experience in environmental health, regulation, and public service. Currently serving as Vice President and Chartered Fellow at The Chartered Institute of Environmental Health, Janet has also held the position of President. As Chair of YES Energy Solutions, Janet leads efforts to reduce CO2 emissions and alleviate fuel poverty. Janet is a trustee at the Safer Tourism Foundation, ensuring traveler safety, and provides consultancy services on Better Regulation to local authorities through the Office for Product Safety and Standards. Additionally, Janet owns and directs a consulting firm advising on environmental issues and regulation. Prior roles include Principal Consultant for the Department of Health and Social Care during the COVID-19 pandemic and Director at Kirklees Council, managing a broad range of corporate services. Janet's education includes a Diploma in Management Studies from The University of Huddersfield and a Postgraduate Diploma in Health and Safety from Trent Polytechnic.
