Phillip Blaen

Phillip Blaen is an experienced professional in sustainability and environmental management, currently serving as the Manager of Sustainable Business at Yorkshire Water since January 2018, focusing on the transition to sustainability. Previously, Phillip held various roles at Yorkshire Water, including Sustainability Manager, where leadership was provided for initiatives in natural and social capital accounting, and Regulatory Reporting Manager, overseeing data reporting and regulatory submissions. Prior to joining Yorkshire Water, Phillip worked as a Hydrology Research Fellow at the University of Birmingham, directing international research programs on water quality and climate change, and as a Conservation Scientist at RSPB, leading an EU environmental project. Academic credentials include a Ph.D. in Hydrology and master's and bachelor's degrees in Environmental Science and Management and Geography, respectively, from the University of Birmingham and the University of York.
