Karen Stevenson

Associate Vice President - Learning Design/ Faculty at Yorkville University

Karen Stevenson has a diverse work experience spanning over several years. Karen currently holds the position of Associate Vice President - Learning Design/Faculty at Yorkville University since January 2023. Prior to this, they served as the Director - Learning Experience Design at Yorkville University from July 2020 to January 2023.

Before joining Yorkville University, Karen worked at Toronto Film School, where they held the roles of Associate Director Instructional Design from July 2019 to July 2020, and Senior Instructional Design Specialist from May 2016 to July 2019.

Karen also has experience at Yorkville University as an Instructional Design Specialist/Faculty from May 2013 to May 2016, and as an E-Learning Specialist from May 2012 to June 2013.

Furthermore, they worked as a Teacher (Department of Education) at the Government of New Brunswick from September 2009 to May 2012.

Earlier in their career, Karen served as an English Second Language Instructor at the Multicultural Association of Fredericton Inc from June 1999 to May 2012.

Additionally, they gained experience as a Senior Account Executive at SkillSoft from September 2008 to August 2009, and as a Strategic Account Executive at SalesBridge from 2004 to 2007.

Karen Stevenson has a Bachelor of Arts degree in English from the University of New Brunswick (1995-2000). Karen then obtained a Bachelor of Education degree in K-12 from Crandall University (2008-2010). Later on, they pursued a Master's of Education degree in Adult Education from Yorkville University (2013-2015). Currently, Karen is earning their Doctor of Education (EdD) degree in Educational Leadership and Administration, with a focus on Higher Education, from Western University (2021-2024).
