Joshua Trinidad

Joshua Trinidad joined YAI as its first Diversity and Inclusion Officer in 2021, recognizing an opportunity to unite the agency behind a commitment to equity in staffing, strategy, and management. An activist for equity and scholar of ethnic studies and critical race theory, Joshua has 20 years of experience in diversity and inclusion work. Prior to coming to YAI, he led D&I efforts at the Laboratory for Atmospheric and Space Physics at the University of Colorado, collaborating with research scientists to develop more inclusive practices for their leadership. Joshua has conducted extensive international leadership work in Mexico and South Korea, where he led school systems through dynamic trainings focused on educational practices and diversity and inclusion programming. He did his doctoral studies at Colorado State University with a focus in Leadership and Human Resources. He is a graduate and past program director at the BUENO Center at the University of Colorado and served in Denver Public Schools for 10 years as an educational leader.
