Valentina Sedeno

Valentina Sedeno is the Re-entry Services Program Manager at Young Community Developers, with 25 years of experience in the youth development and violence prevention fields, and serving in her current capacity since 2017. Valentina is committed to assisting youth and young adults involved in the justice system to successfully re-enter the workforce and improve economic mobility, while returning to their families and community. She is a thoughtful leader in the development of programs designed to guide the reintegration process and support future success by empowering at-risk individuals through training and removing barriers that perpetuate the cycles of recidivism. She has been personally systems-impacted, supporting loved ones currently incarcerated for the last two decades. Her passion for community empowerment and healing, continues to guide her work to disrupt systems that cause further harm to black and brown communities and that disproportionately impact low-income families; advocating for community led strategies, financial justice, and policy/justice reform.
