Jawad Shams is a dedicated professional with extensive experience in health policy and grassroots advocacy. Currently serving as a Campaign Officer at Build Bangladesh since May 2023, Jawad also holds multiple leadership roles at Youth Policy Forum (YPF) since September 2020, including Lead of the Health Policy and Wellbeing Network and Coordinator of the Grassroots Network. Jawad's aims focus on empowering local communities through evidence-based policy initiatives. Additionally, Jawad has contributed to various organizations, including Dhaka University Research Society as a Project Management Executive, and Health Economics Study Alliance as an Executive Committee Member, promoting health economics in Bangladesh. Previous experience includes roles in research coordination, freelance writing, and leadership positions in community improvement efforts and educational simulations. Educational qualifications include a Bachelor of Social Science in Health Economics from the University of Dhaka.

Youth Policy Forum (YPF) is a platform for young Bangladeshis to talk and learn about various policies, political, social, and economic issues that occur in the country and around the world. This was created with the aim of getting the youth interested in policies and creating an intellectual pool of people who are able to discuss, criticize, and provide alternatives to various policies being undertaken. This platform is open for everyone, we invite people from diverse backgrounds and ideologies as long as we are respectful to ideas different from ours. There is a dedicated team working behind YPF. This team is involved in approving the posts, facilitating discussions, planning for events, taking interviews, and uploading content that is generated by the team. The team comprises both students and professionals who volunteer their time and effort for YPF. We value open discussions, respect for different ideologies, respect for humanity, and an open mind for gathering knowledge.
