Michael mc Loughlin

Michael Mc Loughlin has a diverse professional background in various sectors. Michael has worked as a Member of the European Economic and Social Committee since 2015, where they actively contribute to reports on different topics and represents the Committee at various international events. Before this, they served as the Head of Advocacy and Communications at Youth Work Ireland, where they led their advocacy and campaign efforts. Additionally, they have experience in election observation as a member of the Election Observer Roster for the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade, Ireland, and as a Short Term Election Observer for the OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights (ODIHR). Michael also served as the International Secretary for The Labour Party, leading their international work and collaborating with other parties and organizations. Furthermore, they have worked as a self-employed social researcher, conducting research and evaluation projects for various agencies and voluntary groups. Michael's diverse experience also includes working as a consultant for Farrell, Grant Sparks Consulting, where they provided consulting services across different sectors, and as an evaluator for the ESF Evaluation Unit, where they evaluated education and training programs. Michael began their career as a Supervisor at the Institute of International and European Affairs, overseeing research projects related to EU integration and international issues.

Michael Mc Loughlin has an extensive education history, starting with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Politics and History from NUI, University College, which they obtained from 1987 to 1993. During the same period, they also earned a Master of Arts degree in History from the same institution. In 1998, they obtained a Diploma in Law from D.I.T. From 2006 to 2007, Michael earned a Level 5 Certificate in Organizational Leadership from the Institute of Leadership and Management (UK). In 2012, they studied Francais at Alliance Francais, gaining a CEFR qualification. Their most recent educational endeavor occurred from 2013 to 2015, during which they pursued a Master's degree in International Relations at Dublin City University.
