Tim Gillespie

Tim Gillespie is an experienced education professional with a strong background in teaching and coaching. Currently serving as an Academic Coach at YouthBuild USA since December 2017, Tim focuses on delivering whole class lessons, providing individual tutoring, and developing educational plans for students pursuing a GED. Previously, Tim worked for the Wake County Public School System from July 1992 to June 2017, teaching high school English, speech, and debate, while also leading professional development initiatives. Tim built and led the Speech and Debate program at Sanderson High School, coaching students for presentations and competitions. Additionally, Tim has coaching experience in various sports, including football, wrestling, and tennis. Earlier in their career, Tim served as a Youth Minister at Providence Rd Church of Christ, engaging with youth groups and speaking at events nationally. Tim holds a Bachelor's degree in Communication from North Carolina State University, a Master's degree in Religion from Harding Graduate School of Theology, and a Master's degree in Education with High School English Certification from Converse University.
