Gathoni Kungu is an experienced professional currently serving as Vice President at YouthUp Global since April 2021. Prior experience includes the role of Advocacy Specialist at UNICEF from January 2022 to March 2025, where Gathoni led the dissemination of Kenya's 11 Advocacy Priorities and engaged with various stakeholders, including the government and media. Gathoni was an influential Board Member and Acting Chairperson at the Kenya Film Classification Board from October 2016 to October 2022, where responsibilities involved policy development, budget oversight, and organizational restructuring. Earlier, Gathoni held multiple roles in media production, including as a Freelance Media Consultant and Project Coordinator at Spiel Works Media, contributing significantly to brand visibility and production quality. Gathoni holds a Bachelor of Arts in Mass Communications from Daystar University and is pursuing a Master's degree in Business/Corporate Communications from the same institution. Additionally, Gathoni has a Certified Higher Diploma in Addiction Counseling from SAPTA.
