Christine Lawton

Christine Lawton has extensive work experience in various roles within the legal and entertainment industries. Christine currently serves as the Head of IP Strategy & Transactions at Yuga Labs starting from November 2022. Prior to this, they worked as the General Counsel at WENEW, Inc., supporting the Wenew NFT platform from November 2021 onwards.

Before joining WENEW, Christine served as the Chief Operating Officer at MASS, a live-streaming start-up, from November 2020. Christine provided leadership and strategic guidance to the company, overseeing operational and administrative matters while developing growth strategies and partnerships.

Christine was also a partner at Nolan Heimann LLP from June 2018 to November 2021, where they provided legal expertise. Christine worked as a Digital and Emerging Media Advisor at Digital Media, Entertainment, Tech, Brands & Partnerships from February 2017 to June 2018, advising start-up and early-term companies on business development and strategic partnerships.

Earlier in their career, Christine held senior legal executive positions at Fox Home Entertainment, including Executive Vice President and Senior Vice President of Legal Affairs. During their tenure there from 2012 to 2017, they restructured the global legal function, guided product release strategy, and managed legal agreements across various Fox entities.

Prior to their time at Fox, Christine worked at NBCUniversal as a Senior Vice President of Business and Legal Affairs for Universal Studios Home Entertainment. From 2000 to 2012, they conducted business development activities and provided legal advice on various agreements.

Before joining NBCUniversal, Christine worked at DreamWorks, where they handled business affairs and legal matters relating to international and domestic pay TV and home entertainment from 1996 to 2000.

Christine began their career in the entertainment industry at The Walt Disney Company and Reinis & Reinis in various early experience roles from 1990 to 1996.

Throughout their career, Christine Lawton has demonstrated expertise and leadership in legal and business affairs, strategic partnerships, and business development within the entertainment and media sectors.

Christine Lawton holds a Doctor of Law - JD degree from USC Gould School of Law. Prior to that, they earned a Bachelor of Arts - BA in Communications and French from the University of Delaware. Christine Lawton also completed Certificate Studies at the University of Paris I: Panthéon-Sorbonne. Additionally, they have obtained certifications as a Member of the California Bar #152548 and as a Member of the Federal Communications Bar Association.
