Hemant Bhanawat

Hemant Bhanawat has extensive work experience in various roles within the technology industry. Hemant currently serves as the Director of Engineering at Yugabyte since February 2021. Prior to this, they founded Falarica.io, which was acquired by Yugabyte, where they held the position of Founder from April 2020 to April 2021.

Before joining Yugabyte, Hemant worked as a Senior Architect at DC Engines Ltd from October 2017 to April 2020. Hemant also served as a Staff Engineer at SnappyData from May 2015 to September 2017, and at Pivotal Software, Inc. from April 2013 to April 2015.

Hemant'sprevious experience includes working as a Senior Member of Technical Staff at VMware from February 2011 to March 2013, and as a Senior Software Engineer at Symantec from July 2007 to February 2011. Earlier in their career, they worked as a Software Engineer at Symantec from June 2004 to June 2007, and at Tata Consultancy Services from March 2003 to May 2004.

Hemant Bhanawat earned a Bachelor of Engineering degree in Computer Science and Engineering from Jai Narain Vyas University in the years 1997 to 2001. Hemant later pursued a Master of Engineering degree in System Science and Automation from the Indian Institute of Science (IISc) between 2001 and 2003.
