Juan Tellez

Juan Tellez's work experience begins in 1991 as a Senior Engineer at Sequent Computers, where they worked on-site at Oracle for five years. Juan then joined Oracle Corporation in 1996 as a Senior Engineer, where they contributed to the development of Oracle Parallel Query for three years. In 1999, Tellez joined Kenamea as a Senior Engineer and played a significant role in designing a messaging-based approach to coding internet applications. From 2002 to 2010, they worked as the Director of Software Engineering at Oracle Corporation, leading a team that built Oracle Clusterware. After Oracle, Tellez joined Embrane in 2010 as the Chief Architect, leading the development of the Heleos network virtualization platform. In 2014, they became the Senior Director of Engineering at Apcera, where they built and managed the platform team responsible for developing Apcera's microservice container management engine. Tellez then joined Ericsson in 2018 as the Senior Director of Engineering, leading two teams in the development of a Kubernetes distribution for the communications industry. In 2020, they worked as a Software Engineering Consultant at Tellez Technologies, advising small companies and startups on various projects. Currently, Tellez holds the position of Director of Cloud Infrastructure at Yugabyte, where they are tasked with building the cloud offering for the company's distributed SQL database.

Juan Tellez earned a Bachelor's of Science degree in Computer Science from Northwestern University, where they attended from 1982 to 1986.
