Shawn Sherwood

Shawn Sherwood has over 20 years of work experience in the technology industry. Shawn is currently working at Yugabyte as a Principal Solutions Architect since July 2023. Prior to this, they worked as a Sr. Solutions Architect at Yugabyte from July 2021 to July 2023.

Before joining Yugabyte, Shawn worked at VMware as a Staff Solution Engineer from December 2019 to July 2021. Shawn also served as a Sr. Platform Architect at Pivotal Software, Inc. from April 2018 to December 2019.

Shawn's earlier experience includes working as an Application Architect at Kroger from July 2011 to April 2018, as a Lead Application Designer at American Modern Insurance Group from 2007 to July 2011, and as an Application Architect at Great American Insurance from 2006 to 2007.

Shawn began their career as a Lead Technology Architect at Fifth Third Bank from 2004 to 2006. Prior to that, Shawn worked as a Senior Software Engineer at Cohesia Corporation from 2001 to 2004.

Shawn Sherwood has a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science from the University of Cincinnati. In addition, they have obtained various certifications including the Confluent Certified Developer for Apache Kafka from Confluent in 2020, the CKAD: Certified Kubernetes Application Developer from The Linux Foundation in 2019, and the Pivotal Gemfire Developer certification from Pivotal Software, Inc. in 2018. Shawn also holds certifications in Kotlin for Java Developers, Pivotal Platform Acceleration Lab (PAL), Angular 4, and Mobile Cloud Computing with Android Specialization.
