Pascal Dao

Pascal Dao has a diverse work experience in the field of pharmaceutical and medicinal chemistry. Pascal worked as the Head of Preclinical Development at YUKIN Therapeutics from 2022 to the present, where they oversaw the drug discovery process and managed a PhD student and CROs for lead optimization. Prior to this, they were a Senior Scientist at YUKIN Therapeutics from 2018 to 2022, where they implemented a screening cascade that led to the identification of lead compounds and a deep understanding of Structure-Activity Relationship (SAR).

Before joining YUKIN Therapeutics, Pascal worked as a Postdoctoral Fellow at Université Côte d'Azur from 2016 to 2018. During this time, they developed new NIK inhibitors to enhance current immunotherapy treatments in cancer. Pascal focused on the design and optimization of synthesis routes to obtain a diverse set of compounds for SAR evaluation and scaffold diversity.

Here, they played a critical role in developing new diagnostic tools for non-invasive tests by designing fluorescent probes for the early detection of amyloid plaques in the retina. In addition, Pascal worked as a Postdoctoral Fellow and completed their PhD at Univ Paris Diderot from 2010 to 2014. Their PhD research focused on designing and synthesizing inhibitors of focal adhesion protein (FAK) for targeted anti-angiogenic and anti-tumor therapy. Pascal optimized synthetic routes using organocatalysis and microwave-assisted chemistry to achieve high yields of the targeted compounds.
