Richard MacNamara

Richard MacNamara has extensive experience in the legal field, with their most recent role being Senior Director - Group Legal at Zain since 2019. Prior to that, they worked as the Associate General Counsel at M. H. Alshaya Co. from 2013 to 2019. Richard also served as the General Counsel at Jardine Motors Group UK from 2010 to 2012 and as a Solicitor at Vodafone Roaming Services from 2008 to 2009. Furthermore, they held the position of Head of Legal at Screwfix, a subsidiary of Kingfisher plc, from 2003 to 2008. Richard MacNamara started their career as a Trainee Solicitor at Joelson from 1999 to 2001 and later worked as a Commercial Solicitor at Womble Bond Dickinson (UK) LLP from 2001 to 2003.

Richard MacNamara obtained their LLB (Hons.) degree in Law from the University of Bristol, where they studied from 1993 to 1996. Richard further pursued Postgraduate Legal Practice and earned a DipLP from The University of Law in 1997-1998. Richard also holds additional certifications, including being a Solicitor of the Supreme Court of England & Wales since 2001 and being recognized as a Freeman of the City of London by the City of London Corporation in 1998. In 2020, they obtained certification as an In-House Counsel Certified from the Association of Corporate Counsel.
