Matteo Courthoud

Matteo Courthoud is a Technical Writer at Towards Data Science, specializing in data science, statistics, and causal inference since April 2022. Previously, as a Data Scientist at Google from August 2022 to December 2022, Matteo developed novel estimators for advertising experiments and created a simulation library for testing estimators. Matteo has extensive teaching experience as a Teaching Assistant at the University of Zurich from September 2018 to August 2022 and at Università Bocconi from May 2016 to July 2017. Additional experience includes a trainee position at the European Commission, where Matteo analyzed data for a merger case. Matteo earned a PhD in Economics from the University of Zurich and has held research and academic positions at Yale University and various institutions throughout Europe, supported by a strong educational background in economics.
