Matthias Schmitt

Matthias Schmitt is an accomplished IT executive with extensive experience in vendor management, IT strategy, and project management. Currently serving as the Head of IT Vendor Management & IT Compliance at Zalando since May 2019, Matthias has been instrumental in fostering strategic partnerships with major IT vendors including AWS, Google, and SAP. Prior roles at Zalando involved leading IT strategy, PMO, and implementing vendor management processes. With a strong background in SAP consulting from previous positions at Alegri International Service GmbH and VMS AG, Matthias has led large-scale projects and teams focused on optimizing IT performance and cost. Early career experiences include founding MammutApps and Geschenk24, as well as significant roles in IT strategy at Vattenfall and development projects at SAP. Matthias holds a Master's degree in Business Engineering from Technische Universität Ilmenau.
