Amar Shanbhag

Amar Shanbhag has extensive work experience in the finance and banking industry. Amar most recently worked as the Head of Business Performance Management at Zand since December 2020. Prior to that, they served as the Financial Controller at Noor Bank from July 2018 to December 2020. Before joining Noor Bank, Amar held various roles at Standard Chartered Bank from 2005 to 2018, including Head of TB Performance & Analytics, Global Process Manager, Senior Manager - Finance Change, and Head – Business Performance - MENA Region. Amar also worked as the Head of Finance at BLOM Bank France SA from November 2000 to September 2005 and as a Senior Finance Manager at Emirates Bank from April 1997 to November 2000. Amar began their career as a Senior Audit Manager at Ernst & Young from September 1995 to April 1997 and as a Senior Auditor at KPMG India from September 1994 to September 1995.

Amar Shanbhag has a strong education background in accounting and finance. Amar obtained their Bachelor of Commerce (BCom) degree in Accounting and Finance from the University of Mumbai in 1990. Following that, they pursued further studies and became a Chartered Accountant from The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India in 1994. In 2005, Amar earned a Certified Management Accountant qualification from the Institute of Management Accountants, specializing in Accounting and Business/Management. Additionally, they hold certifications in CA from The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India and a Certified Management Accountant certification from ICMA USA.
