Morten Breivik has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries and roles. Morten is currently an Academic Contributor at the TERRAVERA Foundation, starting in October 2022. Prior to this, they held positions at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU) including Associate Professor and Head of Department. Additionally, they were a Co-Founder and Strategic Advisor at Zeabuz, an Initiator and Mentor at Njord, and a Board Member at Teknologirådet - The Norwegian Board of Technology. Breivik also worked at Kongsberg Maritime as a Department Manager and Principal Engineer, and at the Centre for Ships and Ocean Structures, NTNU as a Researcher, Assistant Professor, and PhD Scholar. Morten has also held roles as a Scientific Advisor at Maritime Robotics AS and as a Visiting Researcher at the University of California, Santa Barbara. Lastly, they gained experience as a Summer Intern at ABB Industri AS.
Morten Breivik completed their education in Engineering Cybernetics at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU). Morten earned their Sivilingeniør (MSc) degree from NTNU between 1998 and 2003. Subsequently, they pursued further studies at NTNU and obtained a PhD in Engineering Cybernetics from 2003 to 2010.
