Previously, Joy Marie worked for 19 years at American Express. She also held various positions at Fidelity Investments and other companies in the banking and traveling industries.

Joy Marie graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of San Carlos, Philippines, with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting. She is a Certified Public Accountant from the Philippine Board of Accountancy.
