Evan Benson

Evan Benson has an extensive work experience in the field of accounting. Evan currently serves as the Senior Director of Accounting at ZenBusiness since January 2023. Prior to this, they worked at Elastic as the Director of Revenue Accounting from November 2020 to January 2023.

Before joining Elastic, Evan worked at KPMG US as the Director of Deal Advisory for five years, from December 2015 to November 2020. There, they provided merger and acquisition support, accounting policy conversion, and other transactional accounting assistance.

Prior to their KPMG tenure, Evan worked at The Public Company Accounting Oversight Board (PCAOB) as part of the Division of Registration and Inspections from January 2012 to December 2015. Evan performed audits and inspections of issuer audits, both domestically and internationally.

Additionally, Evan gained valuable experience at Grant Thornton LLP as the Atlanta Diversity Initiative Leader from August 2010 to January 2012 and as an Experienced Audit Manager from July 2008 to January 2012. In this role, they managed and performed financial statement audits for both public and private clients.

Evan began their career at Deloitte, where they worked as an Experienced Audit Senior from December 2003 to July 2008. Evan handled daily engagement activities, supervised staff, and implemented audit plans, with a focus on the financial services and consumer goods industries.

Evan Benson holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from the University of Connecticut and a Master of Science degree in Accounting and Taxation from the University of Hartford. Evan has additional certifications such as AICPA Leadership Academy Graduate, Certification in Risk Management Assurance from the Institute of Internal Auditors, Certified Internal Auditor, Certified Public Accountant from the Georgia State Board of Accountancy, and Chartered Global Management Accountant from the AICPA.
