Jarmo Ruohonen

Jarmo Ruohonen has a long history of experience in the health tech industry. Jarmo began their career in 1993 as a Researcher at the Consiglio Nazionale delle Ricerche. In 1994, they became a Project Manager and Researcher at the Helsinki University Central Hospital, where they were involved in research and early stages of product development. In 1999, they moved to Picker International as a Product Manager for MR guided interventions. In 2002, they became Director of Technology and then Director of R&D at Nexstim, where they developed methods for the evaluation of motor pathway status in patients recovering from stroke. In 2010, they joined Varian Medical Systems as an Applied Research Manager for radiation treatment planning software. In 2012, they became an Associate Professor (Docent) at the Aalto University School of Science and Technology, and then moved to Philips as a GM/Business Leader for MR in Radiation Oncology, and then Senior Manager of R&D. In 2016, they became a Board Member of Philips Oy, and in 2017 a Board Member of HealthTech Finland. In 2020, they began working at ZenRobotics as GM/CEO and Vice President of R&D, heading an R&D team of world-class experts and providing AI based solutions for waste management processes.

Jarmo Ruohonen has a Doctor of Technology degree in Biomedical Engineering from Teknillinen korkeakoulu-Tekniska högskolan from 1994 to 1998. Jarmo also holds a Master of Science Engineering in Engineering Physics from the same university from 1987 to 1993. In 2012, they became a Docent (Adjunct Professor) in Biomedical Engineering at Aalto University. In 2021, they obtained a SAFe 5 Agilist certification from Scaled Agile, Inc. In 2015, they obtained a SAFe 3 Agilist certification from the same institution. In 2011, they obtained a Scrum Master certification from the Scrum Alliance.
