Vice President of Technology at Zensurance

Kevin Sloan's work experience started in 2011 with IBM, where they worked as a DB2 Quality Assurance Analyst. Kevin conducted system verification testing and managed network failure scenarios for the DB2 database management system until 2012.

In 2013, Kevin joined Videogami as a Software Developer, focusing on architecting scalable solutions using microservice architectures, real-time data processing, and computer vision. Kevin later advanced to the role of Software Architect, overseeing various aspects of the software development process until 2016.

From 2014 to 2014, Kevin worked as a Mentor at Ladies Learning Code, assisting and guiding individuals in their coding journey.

In 2017, Kevin became a Co-Owner of diVRge VR Inc., an 18-unit virtual reality arcade. Kevin developed a comprehensive virtual reality arcade management software solution, including a centralized monitoring portal, game library management system, intercom system, and booking system.

In the same year, Kevin also started working at Zensurance as a Full Stack Developer, involved in the development of their digital platform and insurance offerings. Kevin progressed to Head of Engineering, Vice President of Engineering, and currently serves as the Vice President of Technology.

Prior to their other roles, Kevin was self-employed as a Software Engineer/Consultant from 2010 to 2016.

Overall, Kevin Sloan has extensive experience in software engineering, architecture, virtual reality, and insurance technology.

Kevin Sloan attended the University of Toronto from 2008 to 2011, where they obtained an Honors BSc in Computer Science and Philosophy. In 2018, they acquired the certification of Certified ScrumMaster (CSM) from Scrum Alliance.
