Gabriel Viera has a wealth of experience in compliance, risk management, and language instruction. In 2019, they began their role as Chief Compliance Officer at ZENUS BANK, where they lead the governance strategy, BSA Program, and the United Nations Responsible Banking initiative. From 2015-2019, they were Chief Compliance Officer at Activo International Bank, where they designed the compliance risk management framework and restructured the Bank Secrecy Act Program. In 2014, they worked as a BSA/AML Compliance Analyst at Popular Community Bank. From 2011-2014, they were a Communication & Compliance Specialist at QIPRO, where they assessed risk and designed controls for patients related to adverse drug events, hospital readmissions and heart disease. From 2004-2011, they were a Language Instructor at Berlitz Corporation, where they offered complete language instructional guidance to students from diverse professional and educational backgrounds. In 2003, they worked as an Usher, Internship at the Puerto Rico Tourism Company, where they offered ushering services to tourists located in the Old San Juan urban area.
Gabriel Viera is currently enrolled in the Stanford University Graduate School of Business Executive Program in the GSG Stanford LEAD Program. Previously, they obtained a B.S in Interdisciplinary Sciences from the University of Puerto Rico, Río Piedras in 2012. Gabriel has also attended the ABA Graduate School of Compliance Risk Management. In addition, they have obtained certifications from the FIBA (Florida International Bankers Association) for Correspondent Banking AML Certificate in March 2017, and from ACAMS for CAMS and CAMS-Audit in August 2016.
