Marcos Neco

Marcos Neco is an experienced Data Engineer with a background in building data platforms and data lakes. Marcos has worked at various companies, including ZENVIA, PagoNxt (a Santander company), Sicredi, Neogrid, Commbox, and Intelly.

At ZENVIA, Marcos is currently working on creating a new data platform on the AWS cloud. Marcos'sresponsibilities include designing and building data pipelines, defining the data lake structure, implementing data quality services, optimizing data components for performance, and maintaining the legacy on-premises platform.

Prior to that, at PagoNxt, Marcos helped build Santander's global payments data platform on the Azure cloud. Marcos worked with technologies such as Spark, Scala, Databricks, and Docker to develop libraries, services, and tools for effective data processing and analysis.

At Sicredi, Marcos contributed to building a data lake on AWS. Marcos designed and built data pipelines and services to move large volumes of data while ensuring compliance with governance principles. Marcos utilized technologies like Apache Spark, Scala, Kafka, and Glue for this scalable data lake solution.

At Neogrid, Marcos worked as a Big Data Engineer, developing and improving the on-premises data platform for supply chain management. Marcos used technologies such as Scala, Spark, Hadoop, and Java to build robust and scalable data pipelines capable of processing large volumes of data.

Before that, Marcos worked as a Backend Developer at Neogrid, where they were responsible for creating and maintaining applications and services using Java. Marcos worked with technologies such as WebLogic, Hibernate, and JavaScript to deliver robust solutions.

Marcos also has experience as a Software Developer at Commbox, where they developed services and components using Java and integrated with third-party software.

In addition, Marcos worked as a Java Developer at Intelly, where they developed applications using Java EE technologies and Scrum methodology.

Throughout their work experience, Marcos has demonstrated expertise in various technologies such as Apache Flink, Kafka, Presto, and Spring Boot, among others. Marcos has a strong track record of building scalable data platforms, handling complex data processing, and improving business outcomes.

Marcos Neco received their Bachelor's degree in Information Systems with a specialization in Computer Science and Informatics from UniRitter, where they studied from 2011 to 2015. Marcos further pursued a specialization in Data Science and Big Data at UniRitter from 2017 to 2019. In terms of certifications, Marcos obtained the following: a Databricks Certified Data Engineer Associate from Databricks in November 2022, an AWS Certified Data Analytics - Specialty from Amazon Web Services (AWS) in October 2022, an AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner from Amazon Web Services (AWS) in May 2022, a Microsoft Certified: Azure Fundamentals from Microsoft in September 2021, a Functional Programming Principles in Scala certification from Coursera in January 2020, and a certificate in The Data Scientist's Toolbox from Coursera Course Certificates in November 2016.
