Andrey Chursov, Ph.D.

Andrey Chursov, Ph.D., has a diverse work experience spanning various industries and roles. Andrey is currently serving as the VP of Engineering and Data Science at Zephyr AI, starting in December 2022. Previously, from April 2020 to October 2022, they worked as the Head of Engineering and Data at PACT Pharma.

Before that, from June 2018 to March 2020, Andrey held the position of Senior Bioinformatics Software Scientist at Guardant Health. From May 2017 to June 2018, they were a Bioinformatics Research Scholar at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center.

Between August 2012 and April 2017, they served as the Chief Development Officer at CureLab Oncology. Prior to that, Andrey founded and served as the CEO of Scientific Citations from June 2011 to October 2014.

Andrey has also worked as a PhD candidate/Research Associate at Technical University Munich from April 2010 to June 2013. Andrey started their career as a Software Engineer at Yandex from October 2007 to January 2010.

In August 2006, Andrey began their professional journey as a Software Engineer at Moscow Center of SPARC-Technologies, where they developed low-level device drivers for a Unix-based proprietary operating system and integrated them into the operating system kernel. Notably, they achieved the development of a high-performance SCSI driver during their time there.

Andrey Chursov, Ph.D., has an extensive education history with diverse qualifications. Andrey obtained their Ph.D. in Bioinformatics and Computational Biology from the Technical University of Munich. Prior to this, they earned two Master of Science (M.Sc.) degrees from the Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology (State University) (MIPT) in the fields of Innovation Management and Machine Learning/Computer Science. Additionally, Andrey has a M.Sc. degree in Data Science from the Yandex School of Data Analysis. Their academic journey began with a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) in Applied Mathematics and Physics, also from MIPT.

Aside from their academic pursuits, Andrey has acquired additional certifications. Andrey passed CFA Level 1 from the CFA Institute in December 2011, and they achieved Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) certification from Cisco in October 2007. These certifications highlight their dedication to further enhancing their skills and knowledge in relevant areas.
